Guided Trail Running

Sometimes it can be daunting to head out and explore on your own, so you tell me how far you want to run, and the area, and I plot a route, accompany you on your run, and can even provide you with a map of your route afterwards if you wish.

You may wish to build your confidence trail running, or need some tips on technique, or perhaps you just want some company while you discover new routes.

Recently, for example, I’ve guided runners around Rivington, showing them the main sights of the terraced gardens, Liverpool Castle, the reservoirs and, of course, Rivington Pike. I like to show people the routes that aren’t so well known, such as the hidden waterfalls and the quiet woodlands, but it’s your call – you tell me what you want, and I will organise your run.

A few ideas for guided trail runs in the West Pennine Moors area

  • Winter Hill and Two Lads
  • The Winter Hill Trig Points and Summits

  • Darwen Tower and Sunnyhurst Woods
  • Duxbury Woods and Yarrow Valley (Chorley)
  • Haigh Woodland and Borsdane Woods (Wigan and Hindley)

If a guided run appeals to you, please complete the enquiry form below and I will be in touch. I charge £40 per hour, which usually equates to around 4-5 miles of running trails when we factor in time to admire the views too. Dogs are welcome, as long as they are under control. Bear in mind that there is often loose livestock on the moors and surrounding farmland.
